Dub Fire is quite disappointing. It's not a bad album, but for the most part the music simply doesn't live up to its potential. What makes the album interesting is that it consists almost entirely of remakes and covers of Scratch's earlier productions, material which he was performing live at the time. For instance, "Dub Fire" is a remake of "Soul Fire"; "On The Street Again" is a new version of "Duppy Conqueror". Sadly, a new recording of the humorous "Doctor Dick" is ruined by Scratch's new and totally obscene lyrics. With more focus, this could have been a great album.
