TO LOVE SOMEBODY - BUNNY
RUGS LP: Klik KLP9004 CD: Tabou 1 TB1CD19 1975 |
Tabou 1 CD: To Love Somebody is a funky 1975 album that Bunny Scott (AKA Bunny Rugs) cut with Scratch before he became more famous as the lead singer of Third World. Due to the choice of material (several Neil Diamond and Bee Gees covers) you might expect this to sound like a Holiday Inn reggae act, but thanks to passionate vocals from Rugs and innovative arrangements from Scratch, everything here is quite enjoyable. Oddly, the music on this album only had a limited release at the time, despite its very commercial and funky nature. The Tabou 1 CD release features some tasty bonus tracks, including the terrific "I've Never Had It So Good" and a discomix of the amazing "Be Thankful". |
