The Upsetter And The Beat falls into the "not bad but interesting" category. When I first heard this album, for a moment I thought it was vintage Studio One Perry material. However, it's actually a late 1980s recording that Perry did with his old mentor/nemesis Coxsone Dodd, singing over vintage Studio One rhythms. This album has a few good songs but quickly runs out of steam.
