Heavy Respect

Heavy Respect - Lee Perry

"Heavy Respect" is a rather unique record: it was the first Jamaican single by Scratch in 21 years (the last one being "Jah Road Block" from 1982). Produced by Yami Bolo, it features Scratch raving about how he is taking over Jamaica district by district. Later on, the United States also fall victim to Scratch's manifest destiny. Another thing that makes "Heavy Respect" unique is that Black Ark regulars Earl "Chinna" Smith and Benbow Creary play on the record. It's unknown how Scratch and Yami Bolo connected for this single.
