Sufferers Time - The Heptones
The sublime Heptones had two high points in their career: the heavenly rocksteady numbers they cut at Studio One and the more militant music they recorded with Lee Perry.
"Sufferers Time" is, of course, a "sufferahs" tune, with the Heptones lamenting about a life of toil and poverty and asserting that it's time for a change ("Time fe sufferahs to drive big car / Time for sufferahs to live it up").
The song was also released in 1977 on an Upsetters 7" single with a slightly different mix. This Black Art mix is almost identical to the one on the Party Time album.
